POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Hudson Valley Gospel Festival is a new three-day festival, February 21-23, that welcomes gospel enthusiasts to celebrate the musical genre’s impact on the world. The festival includes performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and workshops 
for all ages, with youth sessions just announced. Those interested in participating in the full weekend’s itinerary can purchase a Weekend Pass, while separate daily performance tickets are also available. Pricing begins at $50.
Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center, Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and Conference Center, and Changepoint Theater will host the weekend’s events, and special lodging packages are available for attendees on pokgrand.com using the promotion group code GOSPEL or by calling the hotel directly at 845-485-5300 and mentioning the event.
Attendees will enjoy performances by Everett Drake, Pastor Edwrin Sutton, and the Livingstone College Gospel Choir. Each concert will feature a performance by the Hudson Valley Community Gospel Choir, a local ensemble formed in conjunction with the festival, led by director Dr. Mary Mclymore and minister of music Rev. T. Motley-Epps. The Gospel Walk Through History on Friday evening, and the Hat Parade on Sunday morning are not to be missed. Eventgoers can shop vendors selling choir-related merchandise, concert apparel and formal wear throughout the weekend.
Those who purchase Weekend Passes will participate in eight workshops on Saturday. Youth workshop sessions for ages 13-18 have just been announced, covering topics including Gospel Music singing and instruments, Gospel Music and Black History, History of Black Fraternities and Sororities, African Americans in Photography, African dance, and Arts and Crafts.
