Local Dutchess County Hot Cocoa

'Tis the season for all things cozy and warm. One of our favorite accompaniments to a holiday movie or gift wrapping is hot cocoa. Create a cup from fresh, local Dutchess County ingredients for a treat that's so simple you won't go back to the powdered stuff!

Local Dutchess County Hot Cocoa

Serves: 1  | Double ingredients to enjoy with a loved one!

Ingredients

• 1 cup Hudson Valley Fresh milk
• 1/2 Alps Sweet Shop chocolate bar, roughly chopped (we used milk chocolate!)
• 1 tsp Soukup Farms maple syrup
• Pinch of sea salt
• Hudson Valley Marshmallow Company marshmallows
• The Cakery Fishkill holiday sugar cookie

Directions

1. Pour milk in small sauce pan and heat on medium.
2. As the milk warms, look for small bubbles to start to develop around the edges, then add chocolate, maple syrup and sea salt. Whisk together until chocolate starts to melt.
3. Once chocolate is disolved and hot cocoa looks smooth, pour into mug of choice.
4. Top with marshmallows and dip a holiday sugar cookie of your choice - enjoy!
