For six weeks each summer, the Powerhouse Season brings fully produced plays, musical workshops and readings of works in progress to the Vassar College campus. More than 200 professional artists bring to life 20–25 new works. Major Broadway productions that got their start at Powerhouse include: Hamilton; Hadestown; Doubt; The Humans; Bright Star; and Diana.
Simultaneously, the Theater Training Program gives aspiring college and late high school-aged students a chance to immerse themselves in acting, directing and playwriting. The Training Company offers free public performances throughout the season.
