At 485 feet above sea level, the summit of Peach Hill is the highest point in the Town of Poughkeepsie and offers scenic views of the Hudson Valley, the Catskill Mountains and the Taconic Hills. The 159-acre Peach Hill Park offers 3.5 miles of trails that are perfect for hiking, birdwatching, dog-walking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Biking is no longer allowed due to problems with erosion and safety issues. See the apple blossoms in the spring, and pick the apples in the fall. The park is managed by the Friends of Peach Hill and the Town of Poughkeepsie.
