Hudson River Sloop Clearwater is a member-supported non-profit dedicated to protecting the Hudson and stewarding an intergenerational community of river advocates through education, sailing, advocacy and music. Clearwater owns and operates a historic 106' Hudson River sloop, Clearwater sailing from along the entire tidal Hudson including Poughkeepsie and Beacon. Since its launch in 1969, Clearwater has welcomed over half a million children and adults aboard for education and community programs including school field trips, Youth Empowerment Programs, and music and speaker sails. Known as America’s Environmental Flagship, Clearwater is the region’s last remaining Hudson River Sloop, the only native historic tall ship sailing, and is on the National and New York State Registers of Historic Places for its groundbreaking role in the environmental movement.
