The Field Library of Peekskill joins with the Mount Gulian Historic Site, Beacon for a virtual presentation about the amazing life of James F. Brown, a runaway slave who went on to become a noteworthy Hudson Valley resident. This true story takes us back to a different time, but the values and struggles of that era mirror our own. Mount Gulian's Executive Director, Elaine Hayes, will give a brief overview of the site's key role in the creation of our nation, and then introduce a short video about the incredible life of James F. Brown, a long-time resident of the Hudson Valley and employee of the Verplanck Family at Mount Gulian.
