Tour the historic home, 18th-century Dutch barn! Visitors will hear about Mount Gulian’s centuries-long history that shaped our nation, including its part in the Revolutionary War, and the history of generations of Verplanck family members who lived there. Visitors will also discover the stories of James F. Brown, a fugitive slave who risked his life for freedom, and of Robert Newlin Verplanck’s participation in the Civil War as an officer in the US Colored Troops.
