Join us as Local History Librarian Antonia Houston talks about the travels to the Caribbean and Europe by  William Edward Rapalje in the 1820's and 1830's, as well as a glimpse of a trip to Brazil,  South Africa and China in 1842 by his cousin Dr Stephen Rapalje aboard the naval frigate Constitution.  It will be illustrated with original travel journals, letters, and passports from the  Local History Collection, as well as a copy of a portrait of William Edward Raplaje, courtesy of the Fishkill Historical Society.
