Birds of Prey at the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum Pavilion

Meet and learn about raptors! The Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum is partnering with Ellen Kalish from the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center to bring you a captivating program in the museum pavilion. Meet a variety of raptors and learn about their natural habitats, discover their unique features, understand their role in rodent control, and hear the fascinating story about how they ended up at the Center with Ellen.

At the end of the program, get an up-close look at these magnificent birds of prey! Then explore the fascinating world of owls with a hands-on owl pellet dissection. Each participant will dissect an owl pellet, uncover bones and other clues from an owl’s meal, and use their discoveries to learn what owls eat and their role in the food web.

Geared for children ages 5 and up. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
