Hold on tight! The action is taking off at the Aerodrome, with air shows every Saturday and Sunday from June 20Oct. 18, 2026!
June 28, Aug. 2 and Sept. 20 are Kids Fly Days at the Aerodrome. Kids learn the basics of flight and build a balsa plane to test on the runway as part of the airshow experience.
Of course, no trip to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome would be complete without taking your very own flight in an authentic 1929 New Standard D-25 open-cockpit biplane. There is even a Lighthouse Tour that gives you a breathtaking view from the air of Saugerties Light, Rondout Light and Esopus Meadows Light, among the many other treasures of the Hudson Valley. Click here to reserve your biplane flight.
Weekend Air Shows
For the Saturday and Sunday air shows, gates open at 10 a.m., with pre-show activity starting at 2 p.m. and the air show starting at 2:30.
The Saturday "History of Flight" program highlights the Pioneer Era before World War I and the Golden Age of Aviation in the 1920s and 30s. The Sunday air show is the World War I dog-fight spectacular, with a hero or heroine, the villainous Black Baron of Rhinebeck, scenery, pyrotechnics and a World War I tank, along with antique automobiles.
Of course, the stars of the show are the historic airplanes. There are usually between 15 and 20 flyable aircraft for each show.
