Poughkeepsie Regatta Sprints

The Mid-Hudson Rowing Association and the Hudson River Rowing Association present the Poughkeepsie Regatta Sprints, a 1,000-meter rowing race on the Hudson River. Races will run from Marist University to the Hudson River Rowing Association Boathouse and will be viewable looking north from the Walkway Over the Hudson. Crews will compete in High School, Junior, and Masters events. 

This stretch of the Hudson is famous in rowing history, as it was used for the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Regatta from 1895 to 1949. That race was highlighted in "The Boys in the Boat," the 2013 book by Daniel James Brown and the 2023 George Clooney-directed film based on it.
