The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center will hold free public art opening receptions to kick off its September/October 2026 Art Exhibitions showcasing the works of Liliana Washburn, and a Group Exhibition curated by Barbara Todd entitled What Comes Back: Renewal and Resilience. The receptions will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. in the Victorian Gallery at 9 Vassar Street, Poughkeepsie, and the Reception and Hancock Galleries at 12 Vassar Street. Refreshments will be served.

  • Victorian Gallery (9 Vassar Street): See artwork by Liliana Washburn, a Brazilian American painter and illustrator based in the Hudson Valley whose work is rooted in clarity, emotion, and the expressive power of simplicity. The Victorian Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. 
  • Reception and Hancock Galleries (12 Vassar Street): See the Barbara Todd curated group exhibition, What Comes Back: Renewal and Resilience, that explores sustainability through contemporary art and brings together artists working across various mediums to examine how ecosystems, communities, and materials recover, adapt, and endure. The Reception and Hancock Galleries are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and during events at the VBI Theater.
