Celebrate the 81st anniversary of VJ-Day and learn how railroads supported American troops at this event at the historic Hyde Park Railroad Station Museum. Come as you are or in era costume! Military vehicles will be on display. Tour the museum and listen to live music.

Various scale model railroads will also be running, such as a hands-on Thomas the Tank Engine layout. Enjoy train-watching right on the Hudson River, too, on the Museum’s Trainwatching Patio. Both Amtrak on the east bank and CSX freight on the west bank are busy lines. Parking is free and the main floor is wheelchair accessible.

Call (845) 320-5270 to register.

Note: The Hyde Park Railroad Station will be open Saturdays from 12–5 p.m. from June 20–Sept. 19, 2026.
