Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College: "Fanboy/Diva" (Workshop)

This Powerhouse Theater 40th anniversary summer season at Vassar College features another superb lineup of imaginative and insightful plays, workshops and works-in-progress. Powerhouse has been a launching pad for emerging artists and their groundbreaking works. In fact, the 2016 Tony Award winners for Best Play and Best Musical — Stephen Karam’s "The Humans" and Lin Manuel Miranda’s "Hamilton" — both trace their roots to Powerhouse. Perhaps one of this year's productions will be the next big smash!

"Fanboy/Diva"

• A once-iconic Broadway diva, determined to reclaim the role that made her a star, discovers her online identity has been hijacked by a teenage superfan. Forced into a prickly alliance, diva and fan must share the spotlight — until admiration turns to confrontation in this hilarious, heartfelt new musical about legacy, currency, and the cost of being seen.
