"The Egyptian Helen"
A hypnotic blend of myth, melodrama, and psychological intrigue, Richard Strausss seldom heard "The Egyptian Helen" receives a lavish, rare U.S. staging at Bard SummerScape. Making her SummerScape Opera debut, soprano Hailey Clark stars as Helena, joined by returning favorites like tenor John Matthew Myers as Menelaus and the soprano Jana McIntyre as Aithra. Anchored by the American Symphony Orchestra directed by Maestro Leon Botstein, this production continues Bards decades-long tradition of showcasing rare operatic gems with artists of the highest caliber.
