Opening Party for New Exhibit at Available Items: "Don't Sit on Me"

As America's 250th anniversary approaches, the country is still at a series of ever-alarming crossroads (with rising authoritarianism, ongoing inequality, corporate greed, and the questioning of basic human rights, to name a few).

Set against this backdrop, Available Items presents "Don't Sit on Me," a protest show through the lens of chair design. Opening during Upstate Art Weekend, this brazen group exhibition features 13 chair designs that defiantly stand against the challenges and injustices that people face on a daily basis. 

Participants in the exhibition include Brian Atkinson, Eric Trine, Felix Beaudry, flowerpsycho, Jed Heuer, Joey Zeledón x Martelle Esposito, Morgane Richer La Fleche, Nine Stories Co, Peg Woodworking, Shawn Carney, Summer Moore, Viñas + Design, and Yi Chen.
