Bard SummerScape: Martha Redbone Performs in the Spiegeltent

Bard College's annual SummerScape festival features two action-packed months of performances from June through August. Head to the iconic Fisher Center or the one-of-a-kind Spiegeltent and experience amazing theater, dance, music and comedy all summer long!

• Vocalist, songwriter, composer, educator, and Spiegeltent favorite Martha Redbone returns to Bard for a musical celebration of the words and legacy of bell hooks, an American scholar and activist. In this work-in-process, Redbone and longtime musical collaborator Aaron Whitby embark on a multidisciplinary musical exploration of bell hooks’ landmark poetry collection, "Appalachian Elegy: Poetry and Place."
