The Howland Cultural Center hosts this celebration of the life and work of jazz singer Billie Holiday, an important figure of the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s and '30s, and one of the most iconic female jazz singers of all time. Singer and pianist Mala Waldron will be accompanied by bassist Christopher Dean Sullivan and joined by author Paul Alexander. Waldron is Holiday's goddaughter, and Waldron's father, Mal Waldron, was Holiday's last pianist.
