The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center will hold free public art opening receptions for a diverse and talented group of artists in its galleries at 9 and 12 Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie on May 8 from 57 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All the exhibitions will be on display from May 1 June 30.

- Victorian Gallery (9 Vassar Street): See artwork by Joel Mason, a local artist and Professor Emeritus in the department of Communication Design at New York City College of Technology/CUNY whose work explores a range of ideas and interests from photography to lens-based digital photo prints and vector-based geometric systems. The Victorian Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.4:30 p.m.
- Reception Gallery (12 Vassar Street): See the works of Julian Allen, a multidisciplinary artist working across illustration, painting, animation and music. His creative journey is rooted in a deep passion for storytelling and expression through diverse mediums mainly using oil paint, graphite, charcoal and ink. The Reception Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.4:30 p.m. and during events at the VBI Theater.
- Hancock Gallery (12 Vassar Street): See the works of Monika Kalra, a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores consciousness and inner transformation through a reflective journey within oneself. Through her art, she invites viewers on a journey of inner transformation, self-discovery, and an authentic reflective experience she calls The Eternal Expression. The Hancock Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.4:30 p.m. and during events at the VBI Theater.
