Beacon Annual Hocus Pocus Halloween Parade and Festivities

Head to Beacon for a Halloween festival the whole family will love!

Schedule of events:

• 11 a.m.–6 p.m.: Black Cat Scavenger Hunt. Each participating business on Main Street (look for the orange pumpkin in the window) will have a black cat hidden in their store. Find the black cat and get your passport stamped (passports available at participating stores during normal business hours). After every 15 stamps, collect a prize at either Compass (490 Main St.) or Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hudson Valley Properties (226 Main St.).

• 12–7 p.m.: Family-Friendly Halloween Bash. Fun for everyone at Happy Valley Arcade Bar (296 Main St.).

• 3–3:30 p.m.: Halloween Parade. March from South Avenue to Veterans Place. Line-up starts at Polhill Park (South Avenue and Main Street) at 2:30 p.m.

• 3–6 p.m.: First Responders Trunk or Treat. At Veterans Place.

• 5–5:30 p.m.: Family-Friendly Costume Contest. At Happy Valley (296 Main St.). Categories include Best Family Group Costume, Best Costume for Kids (0–12 years old), and Best Costume for Teens (13–17). Prizes include gift cards from local businesses.

• 8 p.m.–1:30 a.m.: 21-and-older Halloween Party and Costume Contest. At Happy Valley (296 Main St.). Best costume awards for first, second and third place. Prizes include gift cards from local businesses.
