The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center will hold free public art opening receptions for a talented group of artists in its galleries on Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie on Sept. 5 from 5–7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All the exhibitions will be on display from Sept. 2–Oct. 31.

• Victorian Gallery (9 Vassar Street): See artwork by Valerie Berner, a painter whose style is characterized by bold colors, sharp edges, and settings that consist of dozens of overlapping layers of paint. The Victorian Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Hancock Gallery (12 Vassar Street): Lisa Weinblatt, a figurative painter, brings her "School Lunch" exhibition to the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center that is a visual essay of contemporary student life in real educational settings. The Hancock Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and during events at the VBI Theater.
• Reception Gallery (12 Vassar Street): Inna Ivanovskya, an independent filmmaker and an analog photographer, and Tatiana Rhinevault, a watercolor, acrylic and oil painter, will present their diverse and vibrant works of art. The Reception Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and during events at the VBI Theater.
