The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center will hold free public art opening receptions for a talented group of artists in its galleries on Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie on July 11 from 5–7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All the exhibitions will be on display from July 1–Aug. 29.

• Victorian Gallery (9 Vassar Street): See artwork by Jenny Sweeney, an exceptionally skilled and prolific visual artist specializing in realistic drawings using colored pencils and watercolor paints. The Victorian Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. 

• Reception and Hancock Galleries (12 Vassar Street): Award-winning visual artists Semine Hazar, Fatma Kadir and Ilhan Sayin bring their “I Love New York” group art show to the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center that highlights each artists’ area of expertise and offers unique perspectives of New York. The Reception and Hancock Galleries are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and during events at the VBI Theater.
