This Powerhouse Theater summer season at Vassar College features another superb lineup of imaginative and insightful plays, workshops and works-in-progress. For nearly 40 years, Powerhouse has been a launching pad for emerging artists and their groundbreaking works. In fact, the 2016 Tony Award winners for Best Play and Best Musical Stephen Karams "The Humans" and Lin Manuel Mirandas "Hamilton" both trace their roots to Powerhouse. Perhaps one of this year's productions will be the next big smash!
"A Trojan Woman"
For the first time since 2019, Powerhouse will present a Mainstage production. "A Trojan Woman" was written by Sara Farrington and directed by Powerhouse alum Meghan Finn, and stars international artist Drita Kabashi (Little Ukraine) in a tour-de-force performance of a mother, alone with her child, facing the indiscriminate cruelty of war.
Venue: Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College
Performances: July 25, 8 p.m.; July 26, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; July 27, 2 p.m.
