This Powerhouse Theater summer season at Vassar College features another superb lineup of imaginative and insightful plays, workshops and works-in-progress. For nearly 40 years, Powerhouse has been a launching pad for emerging artists and their groundbreaking works. In fact, the 2016 Tony Award winners for Best Play and Best Musical — Stephen Karam’s "The Humans" and Lin Manuel Miranda’s "Hamilton" — both trace their roots to Powerhouse. Perhaps one of this year's productions will be the next big smash!

"A Trojan Woman"

• For the first time since 2019, Powerhouse will present a Mainstage production. "A Trojan Woman" was written by Sara Farrington and directed by Powerhouse alum Meghan Finn, and stars international artist Drita Kabashi (Little Ukraine) in a tour-de-force performance of a mother, alone with her child, facing the indiscriminate cruelty of war.

• Venue: Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College

• Performances: July 25, 8 p.m.; July 26, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; July 27, 2 p.m.
