Marist College welcomes Dr. Nicole Saffold Maskiell, author of the 2022 book "Bound by Bondage: Slavery and the Creation of a Northern Gentry." Her lecture will focus on the ways that slavery shaped Hudson Valley culture by examining the social and kinship networks that intertwined enslavers with those they enslaved throughout the Northeast.
