As part of I Love New York’s Path Through History, Mesier Homestead will be offering a free interactive event featuring costumed iconic figures from Wappingers Falls' fascinating history! This is a unique opportunity to discover both the history of the Mesier Homestead and the personal stories of local historic figures. While visiting the rooms of the Mesier Homestead, discover the Revolutionary War patriotism of Nicholas Brower from his wife, Sarah Brower; learn about the influence of the Mesier family from Maria Mesier; learn about Irving Grinnell, founder of the Grinnell Library, from his niece, Edith Bowdoin; and hear stories from Rush Hotel owner George Rush. As you come up the walk to the Homestead, you may discover a local knitting group spinning yard on the front porch, just as ladies did long ago. It's all part of local history waiting to be discovered at the Mesier Homestead!

The character program takes place at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. There is no charge for admission, however, donations are gratefully accepted.
