Join Sarah Lucas and Mary Beth Reid for a walk around the farm to learn about wild edible plants and pollinator habitats, as well as the role in the ecosystem of honeybees, the original foragers. The observation honeybee hive will be on display and honey will be available for sale. The walk will last about 90 minutes and focus on the magic of common plants in the ecosystem. Sarah will explain how to find, identify and responsibly harvest wild edibles. Please come prepared for the elements and wear closed-toed shoes. Click here to reserve your spot.
About the instructors: Grounded in environmental and agricultural ethics philosophy, Sarah Lucas is a farmer at HVH, an educator, and a certified wild mushroom forager. Mary Beth Reid is a master beekeeper who watches over the HVH hives and her own apiary in Millerton.
