Botanical Printing at the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum Pavilion

Join MHDM for a colorful adventure in textile design! Learn basic and simple techniques to add vibrant colors and captivating patterns to basic fabrics, whether it’s scarves, tops or anything else you can think of! Discover the fascinating world of mordants and how different fibers react to metals and plants. Experiment with natural dyes using plants gathered right from the local area.

This program is taught by textile artist Kate Mitchell. With a degree in textile design from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology and her studies in dyes amidst the breathtaking Andes Mountains of Peru, Kate brings a wealth of knowledge and inspiration.  

This engaging activity is perfect for the whole family to enjoy together. Spend quality time, learn something new and unleash your artistic flair!
