Starr Library Hosts Antique Sampler ID Day

The Dutchess County Historical Society and the Rhinebeck Historical Society team up to host Sampler Identification & Documentation Day. This two-day event is part of a Hudson Valley-wide effort to locate, photograph and document American samplers and related girlhood embroideries for inclusion in the Sampler Archive, an online searchable database of American schoolgirl needlework. Owners of antique samplers are invited to bring them to the Starr Library on June 2 (12 - 4 p.m., by appointment only) or June 3 (10 a.m. - 4 p.m., appointments or walk-ins welcome).
