A Lecture on the Cold Case of the Germond Family Murders

Local history enthusiasts will not want to miss this!

On the night before Thanksgiving in 1930, four members of the Germond family were brutally murdered on their dairy farm in Stanfordville. For decades, the murders of James Husted, Mabel, Raymond and Bernice -- the father, mother, son and daughter -- remained unsolved. Nearly 90 years after the crimes, Dr. Vincent Cookingham -- the author of the book "The Germond Family Murders: A Forensic Conclusion to a Cold Case" who is also a distant relative of the Dutchess County Sheriff who originally investigated the case -- came forward to re-examine the evidence of the case using modern forensic technology.
