Local history enthusiasts will not want to miss this!

On the night before Thanksgiving in 1930, four members of the Germond family were brutally murdered on their dairy farm in Stanfordville. For decades, the murders of James Husted, Mabel, Raymond and Bernice -- the father, mother, son and daughter -- remained unsolved. Nearly 90 years after the crimes, Dr. Vincent Cookingham -- the author of the book "The Germond Family Murders: A Forensic Conclusion to a Cold Case" who is also a distant relative of the Dutchess County Sheriff who originally investigated the case -- came forward to re-examine the evidence of the case using modern forensic technology. He will speak at Clinton Town Hall in an event sponsored by the Clinton Historical Society and the Clinton Community Library. To complete the required registration for this event, click here.
