Learn about the Native American hoop dancing tradition through its history, cultural practice, a make-your-own-hoop workshop and instruction on hoop dancing. All materials and snacks provided, and all ages are welcome.

This program features artists-in-residence ShanDien LaRance, Steve LaRance and Josiah Enriquez of Lightning Boy Foundation, Santa Fe, N.M.

The Native American Hoop Dance 101 Workshop features hoop making at 2 p.m., hoop dancing at 3:30 p.m. and a Native American hoop dance performance at 5 p.m. It includes collaborative work with Hudson Valley-based Claire Deane.
