The Visitor Center at Clermont State Historic Site reopens on Oct. 7 and will be open subsequent Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, free of charge, from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Visitor Center will feature a new exhibit titled "Spero Meliora: Life In The Land Of Livingston," which will explore the lives of the Livingston family and others who lived and worked at Clermont, including enslaved people, indigenous communities, servants and tenants. The exhibit uses artifacts and text to tell their stories, ranging from the 17th century to the 20th century. The new exhibit also features a new children’s area where the kids can try on period clothing, listen to stories of Clermont’s workers or relax with a book.
