Staatsburg Village Walking Tour

Staatsburgh, the Gilded Age home of Ruth and Ogden Mills, has always had a close relationship with the nearby hamlet of Staatsburg. On this tour, you will follow Staatsburgh staff outside the estate walls for a guided walking tour of the hamlet of Staatsburg (note the different spellings, as the village dropped the final “H” in the 1890s!). Visit several historic locations, including long-forgotten factories, bustling downtown hotels and medieval memorials. Using period photographs, this walking tour will focus on Staatsburg's storied history and its close connection to the Staatsburgh estate.

The tour will begin at St. Margaret's Church and follow a one-mile circuit through the village. Parking is available at St. Margaret's. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, sunscreen and a sun hat. To make the required reservations, click here.
