Take a guideded hike through the woods FDR explored in his boyhood. Here he developed an appreciation for conservation and land stewardship that would become a cornerstone of his political philosophy. You’ll hike on woodland roads that FDR designed, and explore forest stands where some of the nearly half-million trees that he planted during his lifetime are still growing.

Meet the Ranger at the kiosk on the Route 9 end of the Farm Lane. The hike will take an hour and conclude at the half way mark with participants encouraged to continue to the East end of the trail at Val-Kill or return to the starting point.Hikes are presented with all social distancing protocols. Please wear a mask and attempt to stay at least six feet from other participants who are not part of your group. For more information click here.
