Making soap from scratch is a fun activity for anybody interested in learning a new skill, making unique gifts, or giving their home a more natural feel.
The Benefits Of Making Your Own Soap:
When you create your own soap, you can avoid synthetic chemicals like parabens and learn the right ingredient portions to infuse your soaps.
Commercially made soaps can sometimes include harsh chemicals that cause more harm than good over time. Making your own soaps gives you the ability to create soaps that are formulated specifically for your skin.
Soap-making includes using base oils. Using certain natural oils, like coconut and olive pomace oils, has natural benefits. They're also very gentle in the right proportions, decreasing the risk of skin problems from extended use.
All Clover Brooke's soaps are vegan, responsibly made right at the farm.
This session will introduce you to the procedures required to make soap from scratch. Each class registration comes with a soap-making kit so you can craft your own soap at home! You'll learn the cold process technique using pantry ingredients, set up a soap-making station, and safely work with sodium hydroxide (lye).
Each lesson will take place inside Clover Brooke's newly renovated historic 1850 barn classroom that overlooks peaceful pastures and grazing animals. Please wear long-sleeved shirts and clothes that you don't mind getting messy. All participants must be 16 years or older.
