For the fourth year in a row, The Orchestra Now opens the season with a Mahler symphony. The Third is the composer’s longest work, a deeply personal and all-encompassing masterpiece that stands as a towering monument to nature, and humankind’s place within it. Award-winning mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe joins the orchestra for two of the symphony’s six movements.

Tickets to the Sept. 20 performance will include a pre-concert, opening-night toast on the portico in front of the Fisher Center at 6 p.m. to mark the beginning of The Orchestra Now's 11th season.
