This workshop aims to make simple carpentry feel just that simple and safe. Learn basic carpentry terminology, tools, concepts, and safety protocols that make carpentry accessible. Over the course of the day, participants will work together to build something new for the farm.

Instructor Kitty Williams (They/Them) is a Black, Queer farmer and activist from the Bronx who has more than 15 years of experience building things small and big. They grew vegetables with their family at Taqwa Community Farm, a community garden founded by their parents and grandfather to provide safety and food to the Highbridge community. Now, Kitty is the co-founder and co-manager of Iridescent Earth Collective, a collective of queer farmers, herbalists, healers, builders, butchers, facilitators, artists and activists in Delaware County, which is organizing for a future where food, care, and sovereignty are available to all.
Rock Steady Farm is a is a multi-racial, queer and trans-owned and operated cooperative vegetable farm rooted in social justice, food access, and farmer training.
