T.R. Hamilton, the President of the American Country House Foundation and Director of Preservation & Collections for the Webb Deane Stevens Museum in Wethersfield, Conn., will discuss the complex journey of Staatsburgh’s founder, Morgan Lewis, from young revolutionary to aged statesmen. Lewis embodies the story of how many Founding Fathers transitioned America into a modern nation. His story and that of many of his contemporaries is brought back to life through tangible remnants in art and architecture. A short reception with light refreshments will take place after the presentation in the mansion’s dining room. This event is free.

Reservations required: https://Bookeo.com/StaatsburghSHS

There is also an optional mansion tour connected with this event for an additional charge ($10 for adults; $8 for seniors and students). A link will be sent to registrants of the talk.
