Art Opening Receptions at Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center

The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center will hold free public art opening receptions for a talented group of artists in its galleries on Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie on May9from 5–7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All the exhibitions will be on display from May 1–June30.

• Victorian Gallery (9 Vassar Street): See artwork by Jim Smith Jr., who enjoys photographing wildlife and landscapes along with traveling the globe exploring the frontiers of possibilities the world and nature have to offer. The Victorian Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

• Hancock Gallery (12 Vassar Street): Portraiture artist Mari Keeler Cornwell, whois a classically trained artist from Caracas, Venezuela, will showcase her vibrant and colorful artwork that celebrate theresilience, brilliance, and individuality of women.The Hancock Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and during events at the VBI Theater.

• Reception Gallery (12 Vassar Street): CIRCLE24collective members Kate Masters (oil painter), Sylvia Mueller (collage artist), and Jacqueline Oster (watercolorist) will present their works of art in a dynamic group show. The Reception Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and during events at the VBI Theater.
