Lucky Orphans is proud to participate in Help a Horse Day, a national awareness event dedicated to equine welfare and advocacy. More than just a rescue, Lucky Orphans is committed to “People Helping Horses Heal People,” demonstrating how equine-assisted programs transform lives — both human and equine.

What to expect:
• Food trucks: Indulge in a variety of culinary delights from local food vendors.
• Take a guided tour: Walk around the farm and meet each of the horses. There will be scheduled driving tours for guests who cannot walk around the farm.
• Participate in family friendly interactive activities.
• "Find Your Horse": Form a personal connection with one of the horses.
• Learn about the opportunities on the farm, from volunteering and education to wellness and holistic healing.
• Raffle Opportunities: Variety of raffle basket from local shops and restaurants.

At 12:30, there will be a special panel discussion on how these rescued horses are helping humans — from wellness workshops, such as a relaxing meditation or the healing power of Sound Baths, to more targeted programs, such as equine-assisted psychotherapy for individuals who are healing from abuse and trauma with the help of these majestic animals. Learn about why Lucky Orphans is the best in Dutchess County for equine-assisted mental health programs.

This event is open to the public, and attendees of all ages are welcome. Whether you're a seasoned horse enthusiast or simply curious about these beautiful creatures, Lucky Orphans invites you to join the celebration and make a positive impact on equine welfare. This event welcomes families to bring everyone and learn about the programs Lucky Orphans offers, from youth development education programs and holistic wellness to mental health services.

Don’t miss the fun! Tickets are available online or at the gate. Join the conversation on social media by using the hashtag #HelpAHorseDay.

For over a decade, Lucky Orphans has provided a forever home for rescued and retired horses while offering equine-assisted learning and therapy programs that help veterans, at-risk youth, and trauma survivors. The organization believes that every horse deserves a purpose, and through their Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Leadership & Team Building, and Wellness Programs, these horses find healing while helping people do the same.
